Early Learning

3 Rocks of Early Learning

Relationships

Families are honoured and welcomed as the knowledge holders and primary educators of their children.

Connection to educators, land, and community are necessary for continued growth.

Safe and secure relationships are integral to early learning.

Play

Play is purposeful.

All play is nurtured by a caring and curious educator who learns and discovers alongside the learner.

Play is integral to well-being and learning.

Language

Educators listen to and honour all the ways learners express themselves and provide environments rich in local First Nations’ languages.

Learners engage with stories, music, and art that is meaningful to them, their families, and communities.

All learners’ languages and cultures are welcomed, valued, and woven into early learning environments.
